Percebú (Shell Island)
My next camping destination was a few miles south of San Felipe — Estero Percebú, an undeveloped sand bar aka "Shell Island"
. The access causeway is washed out, but can still be driven when it's not low tide.

Just me and miles of sand.
Lots of turkey vultures, eating yummy dead stuff on the beach.
Other birds
This seagull had a broken wing.
And, of course, seashells!
The north end of the sand spit is across from Laguna Percebú, with beach houses on the mainland.
