Resort Ruin, Santa Isabel Canyon

These are the ruins of an abandoned resort. There's a guest house and swimming pool deep in a remote corner of the Laguna Salada desert, at least 30 miles from the nearest paved road.

The story is that a Mexican army general was having it built in the 1990s, until he was arrested and put into jail. The resort has been abandoned since then.

I found its condition has continued to deteriorate. The buildings look like they have been smashed up to extract any hardware of possible value, and also perhaps just for the joy of smashing things.
